Empowering Young Minds: Steadfast Initiative’s School Supplies Drive in Subic

On June 18, 2025, the Steadfast Initiative, the community engagement arm of Steadfast Equity PH, carried out a meaningful School Supplies Drive in Naugsol, Subic, Zambales—bringing essential items, food, and encouragement to schoolchildren as they gear up for another academic year.

Coordinated with Ms. Nellie D. Pagar, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) of Subic, and Mrs. Gee Ann Raquel S. Viernes, Municipal Action Team Leader of the DSWD’s 4Ps program, the event was carefully planned to ensure that every child received the support they needed.

The SE team, along with representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)—Ms. Marylour D. Macaspac and Mr. Raffcon Benedict S. Hipolito—made their way to the location without delay thanks to good road conditions and smooth coordination. Upon arrival, the team met with Barangay Population Worker, Ms. Iries D. Sotto and Kagawad Marilou Romero who had already laid the groundwork for a structured distribution process. A participant list was provided by the local community leader to guide the team in identifying recipients.

Many of the children were transported by their school service, having been dismissed early from their classes to attend the event. The SE team was divided into zones, allowing for an organized and efficient rollout. Children were called up individually to receive their items and were then asked to return to their seats in preparation for a group photo to commemorate the day.

Each child received a set of school supplies, a pambaon treat (packed snacks), and a hygiene kit.

The event was not only a success—it reflected the very heart of Steadfast Equity’s commitment to community building. We thank the DSWD, local government partners, and all community volunteers who helped make this initiative a success.
